Which Nicotine Pouch Strength Sells Most? Our 2026 Strength Report

Strong pouches get the attention online, but what do people actually buy? We grouped our 2026 sales by milligrams of nicotine per pouch. The result: most people choose a moderate strength.

Key finding: among our 100 best-selling pouches, half of all cans sold were under 7 mg per pouch. Only 1.3% were 20 mg or stronger.

Strength depends on the brand

Brands attract very different users:

Brand Most sold strength Share at 6.5 mg or less Share at 10 mg or more
ZYN 6 mg (33%) 69% 17%
VELO 8 mg (23%) 20% 57%
77 10.4 mg (82%) 1% 99%

ZYN buyers cluster around 3 and 6 mg. VELO buyers go noticeably stronger. 77 is almost entirely sold at 10.4 mg, with its Ghost range at 20 mg.

What about extreme strengths?

Pouches of 20 mg and above, such as CUBA, NOIS and ICEBERG, made up just over 1% of cans. They have devoted fans, but they are usually bought a few cans at a time. These are not pouches for beginners, and they are much more likely to cause dizziness or nausea in people not used to them. Read the strongest pouches before you try one.

How to choose your strength

  • New to pouches or a light user: 1.5 to 3 mg. See best pouches for beginners.
  • Regular user: 4 to 6 mg, where most of the market is.
  • Experienced user: 8 to 11 mg.
  • Very experienced user: 14 mg and up, with care.

Note that strength labels like "Strong" or "Extra Strong" mean different things across brands. Always compare mg per pouch, not the label. Our strength guide explains mg per pouch vs mg per gram.

Please note: nicotine pouches are for adults who already use nicotine. Nicotine is addictive. The minimum age is 18 in most countries and 21 in the United States. Rules differ from country to country, so check what applies where you live.
